Nicki Minaj has recently achieved a historic milestone, securing the record for the Most No. 1 Albums by a Female Rapper with her latest release, ‘Pink Friday 2.’

The highly anticipated Pink Friday 2, which hit the shelves last week, has stormed to the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart for the week ending December 23. According to Billboard, the album, showcasing tracks like “Super Freaky Girl” and “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” claimed the number one position with an impressive 228,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the week ending December 14.

This accomplishment solidifies Minaj’s status as the female rapper with the highest number of albums to reach the coveted top spot on the Billboard charts. Her original Pink Friday album in 2010 and its 2012 successor, “Roman Reloaded,” had previously achieved this milestone.

Before Pink Friday 2, Minaj shared the record with Foxy Brown, whose 1997 collaborative album with The Firm and 1999 solo release, “Chyna Doll,” both reached number one.

In a recent turn of events, Minaj had an opportunity to contribute to Kanye West’s upcoming joint album, “Vultures,” alongside Ty Dolla Sign. The track titled “New Body,” originally intended for Ye’s shelved 2018 album “Yandhi,” gained popularity after leaking online years ago and became a fan favorite. Despite being labeled as “the hit that got away” by Minaj in a Hot 106 interview last year, the track found its place on the Vultures tracklist.

However, in a surprising move, Minaj declined to legally clear her verse for the album. Addressing the matter on her Instagram Live, she stated, “No disrespect in any way. I just put out a brand-new album. Now why would I put out a song that has been out for three years? C’mon, guys.” The fate of “New Body,” whether it will be released with or without Minaj, remains uncertain.

Similarly, another track on Ye’s album, “Everybody,” featuring a Backstreet Boys sample reportedly not cleared by the artist, faces an uncertain release.
