Rema performs at 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony

In a year filled with remarkable achievements, Rema has continued to shine on the global stage, thanks to his sensational hit single, ‘Calm Down.’

This chart-topping sensation has propelled the young African artist to new heights, with international acclaim and multiple records to his name. 

Adding yet another feather to his cap, Rema recently achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first African artist to perform at the prestigious Ballon d’Or ceremony. The Ballon d’Or is an annual event organized by the France Football Federation to celebrate and honor the world’s finest football players. 

At the grand ceremony held in Paris, Rema graced the stage, entertaining an illustrious audience that included superstar footballers from across the globe.

The highlight of his performance was his rendition of ‘Calm Down,’ which resonated with the crowd and left a lasting impression.

Taking to his social media platforms, Rema expressed his deep sense of honor, recognizing the significance of bringing Afrobeats to the global stage. He also humbly attributed his success to divine grace, giving thanks to God. 

With his electrifying performance at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, Rema joins the ranks of fellow Nigerian artists Davido and Burna Boy, who have also left their mark on football’s most prominent stages.

In 2022, Davido made history by performing at the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar, becoming the first Nigerian artist to grace this prestigious event.

Burna Boy continued the trend by performing at the 2023 Champions League final in Istanbul, making him the first African artist to achieve this remarkable feat.
