Although she is currently busy running her Fenty beauty empire, Rihanna will always be a music lover at heart first. The Barbadian singer recently tapped into her A&R bag as she messaged R&B singer Zyah Belle to ask her to release her song “LYIN,” which is out now.

“Okay, this is breaking news. You wouldn’t guess who’s in my DM,” Belle excitedly said in her TikTok. “Bad Gal Riri. Rihanna. Yes, this is not a drill. Rihanna messaged me.”

She then shared a screenshot of their DM exchange, which shows RiRi saying, “Just here to remind you to drop this if you haven’t yet! And if you have send me the title so I can put on da repeat squad.”

Zyah went on, “I lost my sh*t. I say, ‘Sis don’t make me lose my sh*t on this Saturday.’ And then I proceeded to ask her for permission. ‘Do I have permission to post this?’ Because she’s very demure, very mindful… Rihanna is listening to my music, why aren’t you yet?”

As promised, she released “LYIN” on Oct. 16, 2024. The song is aimed at her deceptive love interest, as she sings about how many times she has caught him in lies.

“You’s a trying-a** n**ga, boy, you tried me/ You’s a lying-a** n**ga, you’s a lie, you’s a lie/ Say where you been at/ I done hit your phone and you ain’t call that/ You ain’t call back, uh, claiming you ain’t outside/ I got your location, I saw that, I’m about to fall back,” Zyah sings over the mellow beat.

Also in the TikTok, Zyah playfully reminds the mother of two that her fans are patiently waiting for her to release music. Rihanna’s last full-length project was 2016’s ANTI, which housed mega-hits like “Work” featuring Drake, “Kiss It Better,” “Sex With Me,” and “Love On The Brain.”

However, she’s always keeping her ears to the streets. Back in June, Rih dropped a viral Instagram reel singing along to GloRilla’s “TGIF,” which gave the song an incredible boost. The reel is currently sitting at over 10 million likes and 175 million views. “I know dis wild hypocritical, but when the album drop?” Rihanna messaged Glo at the time.
