Trey Songz is back in the spotlight, but not for music or a red-carpet appearance. The R&B singer is reportedly under investigation after an alleged altercation with a cameraman outside a venue in Huntington, NY.
According to photographer Isaa Mansoor, who spoke with TMZ Hip Hop, the incident went down on Sunday night (July 13) outside The Ivy, where Trey was booked for an appearance. Mansoor says he was hired by the venue’s owner to capture both photo and video content throughout the night. But as the evening unfolded, things took a turn.
It started inside. Tension built when Trey allegedly got into a heated exchange with a group of guests. Fans started swarming, trying to get photos and videos, which reportedly rubbed the singer the wrong way. That’s when Mansoor says things escalated quickly. He claims Trey punched him in the head, shoved him into a wall, and destroyed two of his cameras. When the venue owner tried to step in and explain that Mansoor was working the event, Trey allegedly dismissed it with, “I don’t give a f**k.”
Mansoor says it didn’t stop there. Once outside, he tried to grab a quick shot of Trey in front of the venue’s logo—again, under direction from the owner. That’s when Trey allegedly snapped. Mansoor says he retreated to a nearby car while Trey left the scene. He later filed a police report and sought medical treatment for a concussion, migraine, and ankle pain. He says he underwent both a CT scan and X-rays before being released from the hospital.
As of now, Trey Songz’s camp hasn’t released a statement. But Huntington authorities confirmed he’s under investigation for the incident. Meanwhile, Trey’s name is also tied to an upcoming civil trial out in Las Vegas. After a man named Tyrelle Dunn accused him and his security team of jumping him back in 2021.
Dunn says the whole thing went down at The Cosmopolitan when he tried to help his wife, who claimed she was being held against her will. A jury trial is locked in for March 16, 2026.
