Bruno Mars’s new smash “I Just Might” has only been present on the Billboard charts for about a month, but it has already reached the top 10 on nearly every ranking where it appears – especially on many tallies that are built around either sales or streaming activity. “I Just Might” was an immediate smash, but radio charts are known to move slower, as they require buy-in from DJs and programmers across the country. Even somebody like Mars occasionally needs weeks, if not months, to send new tunes into the highest tier on airplay rosters.

This week, as “I Just Might” turns one month old on the Billboard rosters, the cut breaks into the top 10 on two radio tallies, following its ascent on a number of similar rankings.

Bruno Mars’s “I Just Might” Reaches New Highs at Radio

Between the two Billboard charts where “I Just Might” cracks the top 10 for the first time this week, Mars’s single sits highest on the Adult Contemporary list. This time around, “I Just Might” jumps from No. 11 to No. 8.

“I Just Might” Adds Another Top 10 on the Adult Contemporary List

Mars collects his seventh career top 10 on the Adult Contemporary chart as “I Just Might” surges into that competitive space, Last week, the cut, which previews the singer-songwriter’s upcoming solo album The Romantic, was tied with “Treasure,” “It Will Rain,” and “Grenade,” as they had all missed out on the top 10 by just one space.

Now “I Just Might” joins “Just the Way You Are,” “When I Was Your Man,” “Die With a Smile” with Lady Gaga, “Uptown Funk” with Mark Ronson, “Leave the Door Open” – as one-half of Silk Sonic – and “Locked Out of Heaven,” which have all spent time inside the top 10. The first to hit No. 1, “Just the Way You Are,” became a 20-week ruler, and it still ranks as one of the longest-running champions of all time.

“I Just Might” Moves Fast on the Adult R&B Airplay Ranking

Mars has proved to be far more successful on the Adult R&B AirPlay chart, and since “I Just Might” can be classified under a number of different genre labels, it also reaches the top 10 on that tally at the same time that it surges into the same space on one of Billboard’s three pop radio rankings. “I Just Might” only steps up one space, landing at No. 10, becoming his eleventh placement inside that tier. Of those wins, eight have run the show – four times as many as Mars’s track record in the highest spot on the Adult Contemporary chart.

Half of all of Mars’s leaders on the Adult R&B Airplay list come from his limited time with Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic. The duo only released one album, a short project, and multiple smashes lifted to No. 1 on the list of the most successful tunes at radio stations that focus on playing a more mature, adult-focused style of R&B.

“I Just Might” Climbs to New Peaks on Several Additional Tallies

“I Just Might” makes a home on five additional radio rankings published by Billboard, and it establishes a new peak on three of them. In its fourth frame, “I Just Might” rockets from No. 10 to No. 3 on the Rhythmic Airplay list, from No. 7 to No. 5 on the all-style Radio Songs tally, and it’s up three pegs on the Pop Airplay roster, where it now settles in at No. 7.

“I Just Might” Still Has Room to Rise at Radio

The same single can also be found on the Adult Pop Airplay and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts, though it does not yet reach the top 10 on one of them. On the former list – the third of the three pop-centered radio rankings in the U.S. – “I Just Might” is steady at No. 7, its all-time high.

The tune has a long way to go on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart if it is aiming for the top 10, even as it hits a new peak position. “I Just Might” climbs to its new best showing of No. 23 this time around, and that is the only Billboard-published roster where Mars’s cut does not make space inside the top 10.

“I Just Might” Leads Multiple Billboard Lists

“I Just Might” can be found on 10 additional Billboard charts, and it is performing incredibly well on each and every one of them. Mars’s comeback solo win is steady at No. 1 on five of those lists, including the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Hot R&B Songs charts, and a handful of rankings that look at sales and streaming activity specifically.
