An OnlyFans creator at the center of a grisly fatal fetish case has struck a plea deal.
Michaela Rylaarsdam, a 32-year-old mother of three, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with the April 2023 death of Michael Dale, a 56-year-old client who had paid more than $11,000 for a fetish session in San Diego County. Prosecutors had initially charged Rylaarsdam with murder, but her plea deal now puts her in line for a four-year prison sentence.
According to People, Dale had requested a number of extreme acts during the session, including being wrapped in Saran wrap and having women’s boots glued to his feet. But prosecutors said the scene went far beyond what he had agreed to, with Dale later found unresponsive with a plastic bag and duct tape over his face and head. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide caused by asphyxiation, saying the bag remained over his head for at least eight minutes.
The case drew even more scrutiny because investigators said Rylaarsdam recorded parts of the encounter and sent images to her husband. Still, her defense argued she tried to help Dale once she realized something was wrong and had no intent to kill him. Rylaarsdam is scheduled to be sentenced on June 8.
The plea deal closes one chapter in a case that has been unsettling from the start, leaving behind questions about consent, risk, and just how far an online fetish session can go before it turns deadly.
