Eddie Murphy is gearing up to share with the world his journey to stardom in the new Netflix documentary, “Being Eddie.”

The documentary, according to the logline, reads “From ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ to ‘The Nutty Professor,’ Dr. Dolittle to Donkey, Murphy has done it all and done it better than anyone. For nearly 50 years, he’s ruled comedy, film, and fame itself without ever losing his center.”

The documentary features an all-star cast, including Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kevin Hart, Jerry Seinfeld, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Brian Grazer, who will provide commentary in the documentary and highlight the groundbreaking path that Murphy formed for himself and the barriers he broke that made him the household name he is today in Hollywood.

“He changed the way we viewed comedy,” Foxx said in the trailer.

In the trailer, the “Shrek” star shared why he felt he was able to dominate the spaces he was in and hold his own onscreen,

“My stuff took off because they’d never seen a young Black person take charge,” he said.

He jokes, saying he went from “stand-up comic to big screen sex symbol,” before showing an old magazine with himself on the cover.

“There is no one else like him. Nobody,” director and two-time Oscar winner Angus Wall said.

“He’s been famous longer than just about anyone alive, and he’s never lost who he is. He has survived it all with grace. How did he do that? What guides him? We chase all of these questions with him.”

The documentary is set to take center stage on Netflix on November 12th.
