On February 8, 2018, Ghanaians were hit with the news of late Rufftown Records signee Ebony’s death.
The sensational singer, born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, died in a fatal road accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.
She was traveling to Accra after visiting her mother in the Bono Region.
On her journey, the Jeep with the registration number AS 497-16 she was traveling in had a head-on collision with a VIP bus heading towards Sunyani from Kumasi.
Ebony passed away alongside two other people: her friend only identified as “Frankie” and a military officer identified as Francis Atsu Vondee. However, the driver of the vehicle escaped death.
The ‘Kupe’ hitmaker was laid to rest on March 24, 2018, at the Osu Cemetery.
Five years on memories of the talented singer still are still fresh in the minds of fans. Celebrating Ebony on her death anniversary, some say they missed her while others pray for her.
Singer Wendy Shay also signed on to Rufftown, and took to her Instagram page to honor Ebony.
“Keep on resting in power she wrote.”
