In a remarkable turn of events at the 64th Grammy Awards, Doja Cat, a newcomer to the Grammy winner’s circle, experienced a night full of surprises and memorable moments. Held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and masterfully hosted by Trevor Noah, the star-studded event boasted celebrity attendees like Lady Gaga and SZA.

Doja Cat and SZA, the dynamic duo behind the hit song “Kiss Me More,” took center stage to accept the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award. However, the acceptance almost faced a hiccup when Doja Cat had to hastily return from the bathroom to join SZA on stage.

As SZA reached the microphone first, she couldn’t help but tease Doja Cat about her bathroom break. She jokingly said, “Girl, you went to the bathroom for five minutes, are you serious?” SZA, who was on crutches, had her dress train lifted by Lady Gaga to help her reach the stage.

Doja Cat, while fixing the front of her sheer dress, explained to the crowd why she was delayed. She stated, “I have never taken such a fast piss in my whole life. Thank you, everybody.” It was a lighthearted moment that had the audience laughing.

Expressing gratitude to her family, team, and fans, Doja Cat turned her focus to SZA, hailing her as “the epitome of talent” and expressing appreciation for their successful collaboration. The emotional tide surged as Doja Cat, fighting back tears, admitted, “I like to downplay stuff, but this is a big deal,” revealing her vulnerability and genuine gratitude for the award.

In her closing remarks, Doja Cat extended thanks to everyone and wished them safety, holding the Grammy trophy as a cherished symbol of her inaugural win. This year’s Grammy Awards marked a monumental night for Doja Cat, who had previously received her first nominations at the last Grammys and now secured an impressive eight nominations.

As the curtains fell on the show, Doja Cat left the stage with pride in her accomplishments, leaving an indelible mark with her heartfelt acceptance speech in the memories of all present that night.
