Tupac Shakur’s death continue to emerge, thanks in part to Suge Knight.
Knight, who spoke with People over the phone to discuss details surrounding the evening of Shakur’s shooting, is now alleging the deceased rapper begged him to let him pass away in the hospital.
The former CEO of Death Row Records claims Shakur was frightened of facing a prison sentence after being involved in a gang-related scuffle earlier that day.
“I’ll die before I go back,” Knight claims the West Coast rapper said while in the hospital, “Kill me. Shoot me.”
He goes on to allege that Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, instructed doctors not to revive her son, honoring a promise she made to him to not prolong his suffering.
“The doctors came in and brought him back,” he had recalled.
“And his mom allegedly said, ‘Don’t ever do that again. If he’s having complications, don’t touch him. Don’t bring him back. Let him go.’”
Other shocking details from the prison conversation with the outlet includes Tupac’s friends smoking his ashes, claiming that those friends saw it as “symbolic.”
“A bag with his ashes was passed around,” he began, recalling the event on a phone call.
“His homies rolled him up. They smoked him. you gotta understand, that’s what made sense. It was symbolic. It’s like… you keep part of him.”
The public figure admitted while this occurred, he did not partake.
“I was so happy to say I was on probation — I couldn’t smoke,” he said on the phone call.
