In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Usher expressed his admiration for BLACKPINK, a South Korean girl group. He shared his experience of attending their concert in Atlanta last year with his sons, where he was amazed by their performance, choreography, and storytelling.
Usher praised the group’s attention to detail, including their wardrobe and lighting, and explained how he took notes to incorporate into his Las Vegas residency, “Usher: My Way.” He stated that he wanted his shows to maintain the same standard of excellence as BLACKPINK’s concert, providing women with a memorable experience to enjoy with their friends.
BLACKPINK is currently on its “BORN PINK” world tour, which includes performances in Asia, North America, and Europe, with upcoming shows in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Kaohsiung, and Manila.
They will also be headlining at Coachella in California and British Summer Time Hyde Park in London, becoming the first K-pop acts to accomplish both feats.
