The streets of Shreveport buzzed with excitement as hundreds of fans, industry insiders, and residents gathered to witness the official launch of G-Unit Studios, the brainchild of hip-hop mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

The ceremony, held at Government Plaza, marked a significant moment for the city’s entertainment scene, promising to foster talent, create opportunities, and build a community that thrives through creativity and innovation.

The anticipation was palpable as 50 Cent arrived in style, flanked by his team and local dignitaries. The former Millennium Studios location, now transformed into G-Unit Studios, served as the backdrop for this star-studded affair.

The rapper, entrepreneur, actor, and producer from Queens, New York, wasted no time in making his mark on Shreveport’s cultural landscape.

To accommodate the event’s festivities, several streets were temporarily closed. At 10:00 a.m., barricades went up, and officers ensured smooth traffic flow for necessary personnel. The list of closures included 500 Travis, Travis at Marshall, Fannin at Marshall, McNeil at Texas, Travis at McNeil, Travis at Edwards, and Marshall at Texas.

The Beaird Tower alleyway to Marshall was blocked, directing traffic across Marshall down the alley and exiting on Edwards Street. Additionally, the exit onto Travis from the Beaird Tower parking lot was closed, with traffic rerouted to the exit on McNeil.

In his address to the crowd, 50 Cent emphasized the importance of nurturing local talent. “G-Unit Studios isn’t just about making movies and TV shows,” he declared. “It’s about creating a hub where artists, writers, directors, and producers can collaborate, learn, and thrive.”

The studio’s mission is clear: to put Shreveport on the map as a creative powerhouse, attracting both established names and emerging talent.

Mayor Tom Arceneaux expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the economic boost it would bring to the city.

“We welcome G-Unit Studios with open arms, he said. This venture will create jobs, stimulate tourism, and elevate Shreveport’s profile in the entertainment industry.”
