Busta Rhymes isn’t feeling Lil Kim‘s absence from the music scene, and decided to tell the rap legend herself, urging the Queen Bee to get back in the swing of things.

During Busta’s release party for his new album, Dragon Season… Equinox, at NYC venue Brooklyn Chop House, the lyricist took time to give Kim her flowers.

The Flipmode Squad general began by expressing his desire to see Lil Kim reemerge as a force within the music industry, lamenting that he’s “tired” of watching his fellow Brooklynite “sit down and be quiet.”

Busta continued his attempt to motivate Lil Kim, deeming her the reigning queen of Brooklyn as he hyped her potential return to the music scene.

“We got to light the fuse, the dynamite stick… It’s time to bust your gun, queen,” the hitmaker said. “It’s time to get active again, queen. It’s time to show Brooklyn who the f**king queen of the borough is, queen.”

Busta Rhymes and Lil Kim’s history extends back to the ’90s, as Busta was a collaborator of various Bad Boy Records artists, particularly The Notorious B.I.G., Kim’s late mentor and love interest.

Kim has also worked with Busta Rhymes herself, most notably on the LSG track “Curious,” which also featured LL Cool J, as well as on Diddy’s remix to his 2006 single “Last Night.”

Late last month, Busta Rhymes released Dragon Season…. Equinox, a 7-song EP featuring appearances by TRILLIAN, J-Doe, Symba, and Stacy Barthe.

Lil Kim’s most recent studio album, 9, was released in 2019 and included guest contributions from Rick Ross, Musiq Soulchild, O.T. Genasis, City Girls, Rich the Kid, and more.
