American music icon, 50 Cent, has graciously offered a $48,000 full scholarship to a young student who faced financial barriers in pursuing her education at Kashmere High School.

This heartwarming gesture showcases the multifaceted nature of Curtis James Jackson III, professionally known as 50 Cent, who not only excels in the realm of music but is also a dedicated philanthropist committed to nurturing talent and supporting education.

Having recently relocated to Houston, Texas, 50 Cent made a substantial contribution to the community by donating $300,000 to the Houston Independent School District.

This generous gift is earmarked for the G-Star Program Business Lab, a program aimed at providing valuable paid internships and other business opportunities to students in underperforming schools.

The fortunate beneficiaries of this initiative include Wheatley High School, Worthing High School, and Kashmere High School in Houston, United States.

Among the beneficiaries, Kennedy Nelms, a student from Kashmere High School, was awarded a full scholarship valued at $48,000, enabling her to pursue her higher education at the University of Texas, Austin, in the United States.

50 Cent took to Instagram to express his pride, stating, “My G Stars are no joke, Kennedy from Kashmere HS was just awarded a four-year scholarship to the University of Texas!,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram. “I’m So proud of these kids. H TOWN you know the vibes she gonna get to the bread.”

Kennedy is one of 75 students from the three Houston ISD schools participating in the G-Star Program. These students engaged in a 12-week program, which offered a Master of Business Administration level curriculum integrated with insights from 50 Cent’s book, “Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter.”

In an interview with Forward Times, 50 Cent shared his perspective on these life-changing opportunities: “These opportunities are huge opportunities that I didn’t have. Being able to provide that in the early stages, I think changes the direction and the choices that they will make. It prevents them from making some of the mistakes that I made.”

Kennedy is excited about her future and has ambitious plans to launch a clothing line catering to those who don’t conform to conventional fashion norms.

Furthermore, she intends to pass on the knowledge she gains throughout her entrepreneurial journey, stating, “I am looking forward to being able to learn, I want to be able to learn all of the things that they are trying to teach us.”
