Nicki Minaj’s devoted fan base will need to exercise a little more patience as they await the release of her highly anticipated new album.

The rap sensation recently made the decision to postpone the launch of “Pink Friday 2” until December, marking the third change in release dates for the album.

Initially slated for an October 20 release, the album was pushed back to November 17 before this latest shift. Now, Minaj has selected December 8 as the new release date, and this choice carries a special significance.

It coincides with her 41st birthday, a day she describes as “the biggest gift I have ever given humanity thus far.” She expressed her excitement by saying it will be a “very special day to me and to the Barbz,” referring to her dedicated fan base.

One reason for this delay is to ensure that her album release doesn’t overlap with that of her longtime mentor and collaborator, Lil Wayne. He is set to drop a sequel album of his own on November 17, a collaboration with rapper 2 Chainz titled “Welcome 2 Collegrove.”

In addition to the album release news, Minaj also unveiled plans for a new fragrance, “Pink Friday 2,” set to hit the shelves on December 13 through Amazon and December 26 at J.C. Penney.

This album, “Pink Friday 2,” marks a significant moment for Minaj, as it is her first album in over five years. Her last release, “Queen,” dropped in 2018 and included the platinum-certified single “Chun-Li.” Minaj has attributed the extended hiatus between albums to writer’s block and her reluctance to compose “explicit” lyrics during her pregnancy.

Although she has yet to reveal the full tracklist for “Pink Friday 2,” Minaj has tantalized fans with the release of two singles leading up to the album. “Super Freaky Girl,” which made its debut in 2022, quickly soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

Furthermore, Minaj unveiled her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You,” during her performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. She also teased an untitled song believed to be part of the album.
