The R&B singer took to TikTok this week to air her frustrations over what she says was a chaotic and mishandled performance during the iconic New Orleans festival. According to Long, her set for her track “Ruined Me” was, ironically, just that: ruined.
“So after they tried to tell me I couldn’t have a soundcheck and then lied and said they didn’t say that… cause I walked to the stage myself and said if I don’t soundcheck, I’m not performing,” she wrote over footage of her show, posted to TikTok. “I had to soundcheck while people were walking in.”
But it didn’t stop there.
Long claimed production “actively sabotaged” her soundcheck, insisting crew members kept denying she was even on stage while she was literally standing right behind them.
“Production actively sabotaged my soundcheck. Lying the entire time saying I wasn’t onstage and I was standing right behind them,” she shared. “They wouldn’t turn my screens on so I could check my content. I had to bark on them to get it turned on. They wouldn’t let us check the lights. We never got to check the lighting cues that were synced up with the screen content. FAIL.”
And the technical chaos didn’t let up.
“I still didn’t have an ear pac or mic,” Long continued. “They wouldn’t let me put my music in the house to check if the music and mic levels were suitable for the audience to enjoy the performance. I had to bark on them.”
The final straw came mid-performance, when Long says production suddenly cut into her first song and started blasting Cassie’s “Long Way to Go.”
“I had to laugh to keep from cussing,” she added.
