TikTok star Girlalala was shot and killed over the weekend in Florida. She was only 21 years old. Authorities say her boyfriend allegedly shot her after a heated argument, sparking a homicide investigation and widespread mourning online.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office says detectives responded to Lauderdale Lakes Friday night. According to TMZ, they found Girlalala in the front passenger seat of a car with gunshot wounds. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but later died.
Her longtime boyfriend, Shanoyd Whyte Jr., was arrested at the scene. Investigators said a verbal argument between the two escalated into a physical altercation inside the car. A firearm was recovered, and Whyte faces a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm.
Girlalala was a beloved figure in the South Florida transgender community. She gained a large following on TikTok, often sharing videos of herself rapping along to songs by rapper JT, one of her favorite artists.
Following her death, JT donated $5,000 to a GoFundMe campaign set up to help cover Girlalala’s funeral expenses, which has now raised nearly $29,000. Fans and friends have taken to social media to share condolences and celebrate the young influencer’s life.
