Tegna NBC affiliate WXIA Atlanta has named Phillip Hendrix its managing editor. He started Sept. 16 and brings nearly 30 years of experience in television news, having held key roles in both local and national news organizations.
Hendrix began his career as a photojournalist and has held various leadership positions in small and large markets, including serving as managing editor of WXYZ Detroit. Most recently, he was a senior producer at Black News Channel and TheGrio, overseeing news and entertainment content aimed at African American audiences.
