The mother of XXXTENTACION’s only child found herself in trouble with the law recently. Jenesis Sanchez was arrested in Collier County, FL, earlier this month on drug-related charges. Official records reveal that she was detained on September 10th.
The records also indicate that she was booked on two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and one count of possession/use of drug paraphernalia. However, she posted bail on the same day and currently has a hearing on October 5th.
At this point, she hasn’t made any official statements regarding the incident, nor is there any other public information available.
Since XXXTENTACION’s death, Jenesis Sanchez has often kept fans up to date on baby Gekyume’s growth. And frankly, their little one is looking more and more like his father each day. In February, new photos of Gekyume resurfaced for his birthday when he styled his hair similar to one of his dad’s iconic looks–the blue braids to the back.
Evidently, even at a young age, Gekyume has some understanding of his father’s legacy. Gekyume was born seven months after XXXTENTACION’s death, on January 26th, 2019. After Michael Boatwright, Dedrick Williams, and Trayvon Newsome were found guilty of first-degree murder for the killing of XXXTENTACION, Sanchez shared a rare statement expressing her gratitude for the support and reflecting on raising Gekyume without his father.
“After 5 long years you may finally rest in peace,” Sanchez shared. “Gekyume will never get to meet you earthside but it is my job as a mother to ensure I share the special memories with him. Jah was robbed of his life and Geky was robbed of his father. For this I will never truly have complete peace but justice being served today helps the healing process.”
