New York Fashion Week is coming back this fall, and designers are expected to bring their A-game to the catwalk. 

Spring/summer 2025 collections from undefined 3.1 Philip Lim, Luar, Willy Chavarria and more will be showcased during the more than 60 runway shows scheduled for the beginning of September. Though New York design studio Area is slated to be the designer that kicks off the Council of Fashion Designers of America-organized event with a fall/winter 2024 runway on Sept. 6, Ralph Lauren and Proenza Schouler are scheduled to present their designs in the days leading up to the official kick-off. 

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Melitta Baumeister, a New York-based German designer and Parsons School of Design grad who was awarded a cash prize and mentorship last fall, will conclude the six-day extravaganza. 

When is New York Fashion Week 2024? 

NYFW officially begins Friday, Sept. 6. It’s the event that kicks off fashion month, with London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks following. 

New York Men’s Day takes place Sept. 6, with presentations from A. Potts, Clara Son, Earthling, Sivan and The Salting just before the first runway show. Shows are scheduled each day and will wrap on the evening of Sept. 11. 

Every February and September, NYFW provides global designers a platform to show off their creations to tastemakers, store buyers and media.

Where is NYFW? 

This year, NYFW moved from downtown’s Spring Studios to RXR’s Starrett-Lehigh Building in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. 

The “professional and cultural hub” boasts an outdoor terrace with a view of the Hudson River, a restaurant a food hall, and event spaces.
