Jamie Foxx is speaking out about becoming a dad again at 58.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, Sept. 22, the host, also 58, mentioned that the actor was expecting his third baby, after PEOPLE confirmed the news in May.
Foxx quipped to Kimmel, “I got a baby on the way … still got it!”
The baby is the actor’s first with his 31-year-old girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp. He’s also father to daughters Corinne, 32, and Anelise, 18, whom he welcomed in previous relationships.
Foxx shares daughter Corinne with ex Connie Kline and daughter Anelise with ex Kristin Grannis.
The Django Unchained star told Kimmel that he was, “About to be back in the drop-off line,” adding, “I wasn’t on the fence about it, but being 58 … you know what I’m saying?”
He also joked that he’d spoken to Al Pacino, who welcomed a baby called Roman Pacino with his former girlfriend, Noor Alfallah, then 29, in June 2023, when the actor was 83.
Foxx said, “I did run into Al Pacino, so if I was ever on the fence, I wasn’t on the fence when I talked to him. I was like, ‘Al, what’s up?’ [He said] ‘Ah, Jamie, good to see ya. I was worried about ya, Jamie, ‘“ referring to the actor’s 2023 medical emergency.
He said that Pacino then told him, “I’m having a baby.”
Foxx went on, “I said, ‘Al, how old are you?’ He said, ‘84.’ I said, ‘Man, you’re gonna be 84 years old back in the drop-off line,’ “ to which he said Pacino had responded, “84 years old, back in the drop-off line, every time I get out, they pull me back in.”
Kimmel questioned whether Foxx ever did the math to figure out how old he’d be when his baby was a certain age.
Foxx joked, “I even tell my girl, I said, ‘Look, just hang in there for 12 years.’ If I’m 58, 12 years I’ll be 70 … you’ll just put a blanket over my thighs, give me some tapioca pudding…”
Elsewhere in the interview, the star also spoke about his previous health scare. He suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke while making his movie Back in Action.
But Foxx told Kimmel that he was fully recovered. “I’m feeling fantastic,” he said. “I went through some stuff; I didn’t know if I was gonna be back here. I cry easily, and I’m crying right now, because I didn’t think I’d see all these beautiful people [again].”
“Sometimes my daughter says I’m too grateful, because I mean I almost died, so I’m just so thankful for everything,” he added.
Foxx’s latest comments about expecting another baby come after he told E! News in a joint interview with his daughter, Corinne, that he wasn’t quite sure he could be an older dad.
Foxx and Huckstepp were a couple in August 2023 after they were spotted out dining with a group in Malibu, Calif.
According to multiple sources, the couple then split a year and a half later in January 2025 amid a busy time for Foxx. That month, he released a movie with his pal Cameron Diaz, Back in Action, just weeks after his highly anticipated Netflix special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was … began streaming.
Foxx and Huckstepp reportedly began hanging out again a few months later, with them being photographed leaving Nobu in Malibu (the same restaurant where they had a group date in the summer of 2023), in April 2025.
