Ghanaian-born American-based gospel artist, Betty Attamah, has spoken about the difficulties diaspora artists face in excelling in the music space without proper management.
According to Attamah, there are not enough music managers to support musicians in the diaspora, and getting the right and competent person to work with is very difficult.
Attamah believes that having competent management is crucial for artists to achieve their promotional goals and keep their dreams alive. She emphasized the importance of having proper guidance in promotional strategies, budget management, and achieving goals.
In an interview with Nana Reagan, Betty Attamah said that having a competent manager is especially important for diaspora artists who want their music to be promoted back home. “Your home ground should always be a starting point, if you’re accepted, the world accepts you easily,” she said.
Currently promoting her second single, “Born To Reign,” after the successful release of “My Blessing Is Now,” Betty Attamah is hoping to release an album soon. She also hopes that all musicians in the diaspora can find the right competent team to work with while they are away.
Overall, Betty Attamah’s insights shed light on the challenges that diaspora artists face in the music industry and the crucial role of management in helping them achieve success.
